Santa Croce
Description

This was once the poorest part of Florence, often flooded by the river, where the labourers of the city would live. It is here that the franciscans set up their enormous basilica and had it frescoed by Giotto and his school, sponsoring this way the diffusion of his style and tecnique which would heavily influence all following artists.

We will see the tombs of Michelangelo and Galileo, admire works of art by Donatello, Cimabue, Brunelleschi amongst others.
